Developmental editing means I will help you to develop your project to move it forward. Typically, writers seek developmental editing at one of two stages:
Still ideating. At this early stage, we’ll brainstorm to flesh out your concept, pin down your vision, define your target audience, and map out the structure and features of your project.
Done with an early draft. I’ll review your complete manuscript and create a plan for you to resolve inconsistencies, flesh out incomplete sections, clarify anything that’s confusing, and generally make the manuscript as strong as it can be.

Copyediting is most useful once you’re happy with the “big picture” aspects of your text because this type of editing focuses on making improvements at the sentence (or “line”) level.
When copyediting your manuscript, I will analyze it sentence by sentence and make suggestions to improve readability, clarity, accuracy, and/or consistency. I will also correct errors in spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and grammar.
